Yarm Squash Club

We're Going Back to Full Squash!

We were very excited to inform you that England Squash have sanctioned the return of “full” squash for all players!! Now we have had a chance to look at the details a little more, there are certain actions that we need to follow.

We still have some considerations to manage our Covid Risk Assessment, which means we will be keeping the 60mins staggered court times with 45mins playing time.

Unfortunately, the changing rooms must remain closed for the moment.

As this has been quite a sudden announcement, the next two weeks will see further discussion on areas such as changing rooms opening, guests/visitors and starting up the internal leagues.

As a reminder we attach a list of expectations from our members when entering and playing squash at the club.

Covid specific

  • Do not enter the club if you have Covid symptoms have tested positive for Covid 19.
  • Do not enter the club if you are isolating after being in contact with a Covid positive person.
  • Maintain 2m social distancing from players on other courts or anybody else in the club.
  • There is a one way system still in place and you must follow this - IN the main front door and OUT the side door next to Court 1.
  • Masks must be worn inside the club until you are on court and ready to play. Masks must be worn when you exit the court.
  • There is a maximum of 4 people allowed behind the courts at any one time, so please leave promptly after your court time is finished.....and catch up with people in the bar upstairs! :)

Player requirements

  • Turn up changed and ready to play 5 minutes before court time.
  • Sanitise hands on entering the club.
  • Either scan the QR code on the wall next to court 2.
  • Take ALL your bags and belongings on court with you.
  • Whilst playing avoid wiping hands on walls or glass back.
  • On completion of the game, wipe down any touch points on walls, glass and doors.
  • Exit club using the one way system.
  • If you need to use any facilities please ensure you wipe down handles and any touch points.

Enjoy this welcome return to squash and don’t over do it on the first game back!

The Committee would like to thank you for your patience and cooperation as, hopefully, all restrictions are coming to an end soon but we still need you to remain vigilant and adhere to these requirements in order to keep everyone safe.

Jonny Buckton (on behalf of the committee).
